NEW WINDSOR - After months of searching for the perfect location, AJW announced today that Comfort, Texas will be the future home of its new manufacturing and distribution facility.
"Comfort's rural setting, affordable property and readily available infrastructure were all factors in the selection of the site," said Christopher J. Hansen, Founder and CEO of AJW's parent company, Fifty Door Partners, LLC. "But at the end of the day, it was the community itself, with its strong work ethic and business-friendly attitude that made the decision an easy one."
Phase one of the project will include construction of a 150,000 square foot facility on the 15-acre site AJW has purchased. It is projected to create 120 new jobs.
According to Hansen, the new, state-of-the-art facility will allow for an exponential expansion of AJW's manufacturing capabilities and give the company the flexibility to produce both its existing product lines and introduce new product innovations.
"The Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation has been exceptionally helpful in securing incentives for the project," Hansen said. "We thank them for their efforts, which has enabled the project to move forward without delay."
According to Hansen, AJW will continue to operate out of a temporary facility until the new manufacturing space is complete.
"This is the type of manufacturing facility we would like to see come to Kendall County. The company has been a very good corporate citizen from the day they told us they were coming. They have made every effort to hire local companies and individuals in the construction phase, and have been meeting with the Comfort ISD and local leaders of the community to see if there are opportunities where AJW can be of help. We all want to thank AJW for choosing Kendall County and Comfort."
